The first task of the contest Mokranjac Foundation for the new choral composition specifies that work should be written for choir a capella relying on the Serbian folklore for up to 6 minutes.
The competition, which according to the manner and way of work was anonymous, received nine compositions under the code, of which eight met the set conditions. The works were judged by jury: Dejan Despic, composer, president of the jury, Dimitrije Golemovic, composer and ethnomusicologist, Miloje Nikolic, conductor, Vladimir Milic, conductor and Dragan Jovanovic, conductor.
Based on the analysis and comparison of compositions submitted for the competition, 27.10.2014 were selected and awarded works, which, in the opinion of the jury, the most appropriate requirements of the competition. The first prize of RSD 50.000, won Miroljub Arandjelovic - Rasinski for the composition Vencic Mokranjcu for female choir. The second prize of RSD 30.000 allocated to the Minta Aleksinacki for composition Svadbene for mixed choir. Third prize in the amount of RSD 20.000 won Miodrag Govedarica for the composition Tebe pojem nr. 3 for mixed choir. The funds for the awards were provided by SOKOJ.
The Mokranjac Foundation will allow the publication of the prize-winning composition, its premiere, as well as sound recording until the end of 2015.
