Based on the objectives and activity laid down in the founding act and the statute, The Mokranjac Foundation realized the second competition for a new choral composition on 2015. The main objective of the competition was to encourage, reward and promote artistic creation in the field of choral composition as a part of the heritage of Mokranjac's tradition. The task of the competition, it was specified that the composition should be written for choir a capella relying on the Serbian folklore for up to 6 minutes.
The competition, which according to the manner and way of work was anonymous, received eleven papers under the code. The works were judged by jury: Dejan Despic, composer, president of the jury, Dimitrije Golemovic, composer and ethnomusicologist, Miloje Nikolic, Vladimir Milic and Dragana Jovanovic, conductors.
Based on the analysis and comparison of compositions submitted for the competition were selected and awarded works, which, in the opinion of the jury, the most appropriate requirements of the competition. The first prize of RSD 60.000 won Zdenko Radeta with composition Kupi mi babo volove for mixed choir. Second prize in the amount of RSD 40.000 was awarded to Aleksandar S. Vujic for the composition Zareko se, poreko se for mixed choir. Third prize in the amount of RSD 25.000 won Aleksandar Damnjanovic for the composition Marko prosi for mixed choir. The funds for the awards were provided by SOKOJ.
The Mokranjac Foundation will allow the first prize of composition and publication of its premiere, as well as audio recording of the awarded composition over the year 2016.
